Cardiovascular Consultants was founded April 1, 1975 by Walker Beeson, M.D.. Dr. Beeson was the first board certified cardiologist in Savannah. After completing his training at the Medical College of Georgia, he came to Savannah in July of 1970 as the Director of Cardiology at Memorial Hospital. He was responsible for starting the cardiac catheterization laboratory at both Memorial and St. Joseph's Hospital and performing the first coronary angiogram in Savannah. Dr. Beeson later performed the first angioplasty in the region.

Over the years, Cardiovascular Consultants has continued to grow and provide the latest in cardiovascular care to patients. In 1989, we established the first electrophysiology program in the region for the treatment of complex arrhythmias. In 2001, we implanted the first biventricular AICD in Savannah for the treatment of refractory congestive heart failure. Currently, Cardiovascular Consultants has seven active cardiologists, 2 emeritus cardiologists, and over twenty office personnel. Cardiovascular Consultants is both committed and equipped to provide residents of Southeast Georgia and South Carolina the highest quality of cardiology care attainable.
